Shelter Feeding Program

ASCK prepares and delivers freshly cooked meals to residents of shelters serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

For the past two years, ASCK has partnered with Shelter House Inc., which oversees the Loudoun Homeless Shelter. Volunteers pick up meals from the ASCK kitchen and serve them directly at the shelter every third Saturday.

ASCK also supports other regional shelters, including Carpenter’s Shelter, ensuring that individuals experiencing housing instability have consistent access to nutritious meals.

This program provides stability, dignity, and nourishment to people during some of the most challenging periods of their lives.

LCPS PEP Meals Program – CAST Program – Cooking Lab

Through a partnership with Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), ASCK provides meals for families participating in the Parents as Educational Partners (PEP) program.

The PEP program supports English learner families and underserved communities by strengthening family-school connections. Meals provided by ASCK help create welcoming environments where families can participate in school engagement activities.

ASCK is also currently developing a grocery assistance initiative with LCPS school liaisons, who work directly with families seeking food support. This effort will allow ASCK to identify and assist families experiencing food insecurity more efficiently.

Anna Sudha Community Kitchens also collaborates with Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) through programs such as the CAST (Career and Academic Skills Training) Program and hands-on Cooking Lab experiences.

In-Kitchen Dining Program

ASCK operates a welcoming in-kitchen dining program that provides hot, freshly prepared meals for:

Individuals experiencing homelessness
People living in vehicles
Community members facing immediate food insecurity

Many individuals served through this program lack access to cooking facilities or food storage. The program provides a low-barrier, dignified space where individuals can access nourishing meals without complicated eligibility requirements.

Open Pantry & Grocery Assistance Program

The ASCK Open Pantry Program provides groceries including staples, fresh produce, and culturally appropriate foods to families struggling with food affordability.

Unlike many pantry programs that require eligibility verification, the ASCK pantry focuses on accessibility and dignity for working families who may not qualify for federal assistance but still face food insecurity.

In addition to in-person pantry services, ASCK also:

Delivers groceries and prepared meals to homebound families and seniors
Supports individuals across Northern Virginia, not just Loudoun County
Provides culturally relevant foods for immigrant families

This program has become an essential resource for households living paycheck-to-paycheck.

Inclusive Volunteer Program

ASCK strongly believes in inclusive community engagement.

Through partnerships with organizations such as Makom Life and local group homes including Camellia Living LLC, individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs participate in:

Meal preparation
Food packaging
Pantry distribution
Community service activities

These volunteer opportunities promote:

Skill development
Social interaction
Confidence building
Meaningful community integration

ASCK also works with the LCPS CAST (Career and Academic Skills Training) Program, helping students with special needs gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
