Nupur Panjabi founded the kitchen in 2021 as a divine calling to dedicate the rest of her life to serving people.
An IT staffing company Founder, Nupur sold her small business in 2019 to spend all her time in Spreading Love through food in the DMV area.
What started as a single person initiative has now snowballed into a community wide volunteering effort with an impact of $350,000 and over 80,000 meals donated in 2023.
We envision a community where good-quality, nutritious, home-cooked food is accessible to all.

Unlike most non-profit meal services that rely heavily on grants and external funds to operate, we raise funds by offering daily meals and catering and cooking events.
This along with donations and community support keep our day-to-day operations going plus allow us to provide fresh, nutritious meals to shelters and home-bound seniors, which is the core of our mission—spreading love through food.
