President’s Volunteer Service Awards

The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is an opportunity to honor the most outstanding volunteers and recognize the impact they make.

Led by the AmeriCorps and managed in partnership with Points of Light, this program allows Certifying Organizations to recognize their most exceptional volunteers.

Yes. Anna Sudha is a Certifying Organization for PVSA, so it can give the PVSA Awards for deserving volunteers.

  • United States citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e., green card holder)
  • Must be at least fourteen years old
  • Completes eligible service within a 12-month period (for annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards) starting June 01, 2023, and over a lifetime (for Lifetime Achievement Awards)

The volunteer hours should be tracked and calculated on a 12 months basis. Anna Sudha has marked the start date for this program as June 01, 2023

Ensure that there is signed proof of volunteering hours. This can be done by getting signatures from authorized staff members at Anna Sudha at the end of each volunteering session. You can use this Sample Volunteer Hours Tracking Sheet to sign and track your volunteer hours.

Any volunteer unpaid service hours rendered to Anna Sudha can be logged and accumulated for  applying for service award. The type of service  award will be based on the number of hours.

Volunteers must

  • Track the volunteer hours on a 12 months basis from June 01. Anna Sudha has marked the start date for this program as June 01, 2023.
  • Maintain an excel spreadsheet of the date, time and events for the volunteering hours with Anna Sudha. This spreadsheet log should also show total hours completed, when applying. You can use this Sample Volunteer Hours Tracking Sheet to sign and track your volunteer hours.
  • Ensure that there is signed proof of volunteering hours. This can be done by getting signatures from authorized staff members at Anna Sudha at the end of each volunteering session. 
 

Volunteers can apply for the PVSA award using this PVSA Volunteer Application Link. 

In recognition for the outstanding service, Anna Sudha will award approved volunteers with PVSA Certificate and a medal.

Yes. Volunteering is a selfless act, and Anna Sudha respects that. So, Anna Sudha will consider the volunteer (unpaid) hours contributed to other places, as long as the hours are dedicated to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.

Similar to the hours submitted for Anna Sudha volunteer work, we will need signed proof of the volunteer hours worked for other non-profit organizations for considering them towards the award.

The awards are granted on a 12 month period with the starting line of June 01 every year. So, a volunteer can apply for the award, once in the 12 months period.

However, there is no limit to the number of times the award can be applied for.
